After getting a brilliant new camera for Christmas I found that I could do almost everything you could think of with it, and any effects that weren't on the camera were on the editing program that came with it. But seeing as it is so good I have found myself taking it everywhere! I take photos on a day to day basis (thank goodness I have two 16gb memory cards!)
My camera is the Canon Power Shot SX220 HS and I love it (if you can't tell)
Its not to big, so easy to carry around with you, it has a 14x optical zoom, plenty of effects, good in nearly all lighting, HD videos and photos. Basically I love it!
The only things I don't like: is that the camera makes a noise when you zoom in and out (so no so good if you're videoing and want to zoom in). The other thing is that when you turn it on the flash thing pops up so you have to make sure your hand isn't over that part of the camera. But nothing big really, you get used to it after a while.

So I have taken a lot of pictures with this and I thought you might like to see a few of them :)
This is a 'blue and white' effect (I think this looks nicer than black and white in some cases)
I used a slow shutter speed for this (you get such a different effect with moving shots)
As you can see I love
